Dire Stakes is a game borne from a love of Gothic Horror Literary tradition, 80's-90's era dark fantasy gaming, and vampire mythologies.
As a Victorian era doctor, you recieve a letter from your presumed dead mentor "The Professor" inviting you to a mysterious island masion. Upon arriving you find the estate in a state of derelict abandon, save the various forms of vampires haunting it's secret dungeon and catacombs. Trapped, you have a night of twelve hours to solve the mysteries of this mansion whilst surviving the various vampire forms that hunt you relentlessly as the night grows dark and long.

Install instructions
Unzip the Exhibition folder and open the DireStakes.exe file.
Note: there is a bug where entering the how to play menu breaks the games state machine so need to Alt + F4 and reload the application.
